High-pressure water cutting. Perfect cuts at low temperatures
Machines capable of high-pressure water cutting can slice through metals, plastics, and other materials in specialized processes. They achieve this by using water at high speed and pressure. Typically, an abrasive substance is mixed with the water to enhance the cutting process. These machines are known as waterjets.
How does a high-pressure watercutting machine work?
The process we use is akin to the natural erosion caused by water, that is to say, it produces the same erosion in the materials, but it happens much faster, within seconds.
As a general rule, this type of machine, and specifically ours, is connected to a water pump whose pumping is high pressure. Therefore, the nozzle through which the water is expelled is the mechanism that allows the high pressure jet to be emitted.
The machine we have is used for our customers to manufacture parts that require special precision. We usually use it when the material to be cut does not withstand the high temperatures of other cutting methods and we use its application for different types of companies or industries.
Benefits of using this technique
In summary, it is highly beneficial to opt for pressure waterjet cutting when a perfectly finished part is required and, due to its hardness and materials, it must be done with special care. As you have read, in Rectificados Mayer we have a waterjet machine capable of performing this type of cutting for your parts. If you need a cut of these characteristics or any other type of grinding, please contact us without obligation.
